Jacqueline Allan (Ba, Bsc) is the Founder of the Registered UK charity Diabetics with Eating Disorders. The charity, founded in 2009 has grown from a grassroots support service to a well-established organisation involved in campaigning, training, awareness raising and advocacy . The trustee board consists of the UKs most recognisable names in the fields of Diabetes and Eating Disorders. In her position Jacqueline regularly advises and trains health care bodies, UK parliament, Scottish parliament, charities and private clinics on Eating Disorders in Type 1 Diabetes. She has also been involved in the development of several intervention programmes and has delivered lectures internationally.
Jacqueline was nominated to the BPS as an undergraduate for the biopsychology category and was awarded a fully funded PHD at Birkbeck in 2014, She is currently researching interventions for Eating Disorders in Type 1 Diabetes under Dr Anne Miles and Professor Annette Karmilov-Smith at Birkbeck, University of London.
