DWED CONTACT LIST
Every month DWED releases specialist content relating to a unique topic each time that related to diabetes and eating disorders. For this we are always looking for case studies about real life experiences which will usually be posed up alongside an interview with a health-care professional or someone with specific expertise.. Carers, family and friends of a loved one with ED-EMT1 are also welcome sources for us.
So we need a contact list to do to when we need to call out for these voices and if you feel you might be willing to be a case study, which can be completely anonymous and takes approximately ten minutes via phone then please fill in the form below. Interviews can also be undertaken in written/transcript type form if you are comfortable with your voice being heard.
Health professionals, what me endocrinologists, diabetic nurses or eating disorder specialists, even charity heads or any other voices of authority that may be willing to speak to us, please to fill in your info below too.. These kinds of contacts are like gold dust to us and understandably always very busy!
To give examples, the last 5 topics we covered were:
- Drugs and Alcohol
- Tattoos and Piercings
- Mental Health co-morbidites (anxiety, depression, OCD, BPD, Bipolar etc)
- Family relationships
For August our interest is to be men with type 1 diabetes and eating disorders
Future topics may include: dating and intimacy, recklessness and impulsive, work dynamics, education, diabetic complications (retinopathy, gastro, neuro etc.), LGBT issues, the diagnosis process, the diabetes online community, associated health problems such as coeliacs disease etc etc. There are a lot of interesting subjects to cover!
Additionally, if you would prefer to submit a completely anonymous account of your experience this is entirely your discretion. Your story may relate to any of the topics above or furthermore, any material you feel may be of interest to us and our members concerning diabetes and eating disorders, This form can also be used to let us know your views on how we aee doing as a charity as we are always looking for ways to improve our services.
